Meet Our Local, 2024 CMN Hospitals Champion, Porter!

We are thrilled to introduce you to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s, CMN Hospitals’ Champion for 2024! Meet Porter! This brave, young champ has inspired us to live life to the fullest and always smile.

Porter was born with Down syndrome at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where the care team helped his family understand the medical, cognitive, and social complexities of his condition so that he could enjoy the highest possible quality of life. During Porter’s respiratory illness treatments and hospitalizations, he participated in several clinical trials through CHOP. Their participation contributed to growing research for individuals with intellectual disabilities, leading towards a brighter future for all.

Porter, who is now 12 years old, lives life to the fullest. He practices drums for school band, plays basketball, goes horseback riding, participates in Tae Kwon Do, and competes in Special Olympics swimming.
