Extra Life – National Gaming Day!

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) challenges you to register for Extra Life, a 24-hour gaming and fundraising marathon, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. You’ll join a national movement that has raised more than $50 million to support kids, like Benjamin, in your community.

CMN Champion, Benjamin. As an infant, Benjamin suffered from severe reflux, vomiting and diarrhea. He couldn’t tolerate breast milk or formula, struggled to gain weight and was in constant pain. His parents took him to doctor after doctor. After months of anguish, his parents sought care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and finally got a diagnosis: food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES), a rare food allergy. CHOP is one of the only hospitals in the country with a specialized clinic for FPIES. Care involved all-day evaluations to determine which foods were triggering Benjamin’s symptoms. With the removal of Benjamin’s trigger foods, his symptoms have subsided. He is now happy, free of pain, gaining weight and thriving.
